Prone to being hacked, wireless connections require strong passwords in order to protect the privacy and security of your data. Wi-Fi password keys follow strict rules that depend on the encryption standard they follow (WEP, WPA, or WPA2), and WiFi Password Key Generator has been designed to support them all and to help you create highly secure WEP and WPA keys of any length and of any level of security – from 64 to 256 bits – for free.
The program’s simplicity of use is, together with its high level of efficiency, its main asset. It is so simple that the one-window interface comes with no settings, options, or menus whatsoever. Not that you need any of those to create random passwords, but it would have been nice to have the option to decide, for instance, which sets of characters I want to use and which I don’t. Other than that (and maybe the aesthetics of the interface design), it is hard to quibble about WiFi Password Key Generator – it offers a simple and straightforward functionality and performs it perfectly.
The program can create 64-, 128-, 152-, and 256-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) keys (from 5 to 29 ASCII characters, respectively) and 64-, 160-, and 504-bit Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA2) passwords, ranging from 8 to 63 ASCII characters. Password keys are presented in both ASCII format and HEX format. The tool mixes lower- and upper-case letters, symbols, and numbers to provide you with random hard-to-crack keys, which are also nearly impossible to remember or type, mainly in their ASCII form. That is why this tool comes with buttons that will let you copy your newly-generated key to the clipboard with one click, and paste it where needed.
This is the only functionality that WiFi Password Key Generator offers you, a functionality that it performs to perfection with just one click of your mouse.
